Three New Members Named to Bluegrass Care Navigators Board
Bluegrass Care Navigators is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its governing board for 2019.
Bluegrass Care Navigators was privileged to recognize the Owen County Friends of Hospice group at this year’s National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, November 1. The group began fundraising for the agency more than five years ago, first with a small tea for friends and family, but their efforts have evolved into an annual Derby Day Brunch, which has raised nearly $32,000 in the past five years.
Jenni Duncan inspired the group to form with her commitment to helping the seriously ill in Owenton and throughout Owen County. Jenni and fellow organizer Tina McNay joined Bluegrass Care Navigators at the National Philanthropy Day luncheon at Marriott’s Griffin Gate Hotel. The luncheon is hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, with events around the country recognizing the philanthropic and volunteer contributions of individuals and organizations making a significant impact on their communities.
Other members of the Owen County Friends of Hospice who were unable to attend the luncheon include Dawn Davis, Judy Hetterman, Patti Parker-Gaines, Ruby Stewart and Debbie Whobrey. Joining the honorees at this year’s luncheon were Bluegrass Care Navigators’ staff members from the Frankfort site office; Rachel Moody, social worker, Candie Beals, nurse, Judy Powell, certified nursing assistant, and Shellie Brown, community engagement coordinator.
