BCN Career Stories

Korinne Rolf

I like working for BCN because of the community feeling. I consider the people I work with to be my work family. I think this is because I work so closely with so many people on so many different tasks and we all get along very well. We all support each other because we all have the same goal in mind: to provide the best care possible to our patients and families.

I am a clinical educator at BCN and I very much enjoy what I do. I am able to interact with all new hires Day 1 and give them the impression of how I feel about BCN: that we are all a team. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things about my job here at BCN. I get to train our new hires on how to properly document, how to set up their IT equipment, how to access their email, use zoom and Microsoft teams, and access SharePoint and find a multitude of important information.

I work closely with my Professional Development team. We may be a smaller team, but we are mighty! We stay up to date on CMS changes and work closely with a multitude of other departments on taking that information and cascading it to those out in the field and others who need it. We prepare all the training books for our new hires, make their schedules if indicated, and work very closely with IT to ensure they have everything they need from Day 1. I work 8-hour days 5 days a week and I am salary. My job is very flexible and I work from home on the days where I do not have in person training.

I live in NKY and so I travel often to Lexington, Frankfort, and Cynthiana for training. Some days are longer than others with training/travel time, but I am able to have a much more relaxed pace on the days I work from home to counteract that. Additionally, BCN offers fantastic PTO as well as other benefits and competitive pay for someone like me who is an RN.

I find that working for BCN is very fulfilling. There is no better feeling than knowing that a new hire is doing a fantastic job after you have helped with their training. Also, I know that the time and effort that I put in to training our new hires gets carried forward on to our patients and families. Prior to my current role of clinical educator for BCN I was a home team flex nurse in NKY. I know very well the challenges and demands of being in the field and that is another reason why I take so much pride in BCN and in my teammates across BCN for all the hard work we do. In summary, I am so happy to be an employee of BCN and look forward to continuing to grow with the company and see how far we can go to continue to help patient and their families.
