These personalized modifications are provided at no cost to those who qualify. If you are a low-income senior looking to age safely with confidence, we are here to help!
Who Can Apply:
- You are 62 or older
- You live in Fayette County
- Your income is at or below 80% of the area median income
- You own or rent your primary residence
- You want to age in place, but need modifications to make your home safer
Possible Modifications
Can Include:
(examples below not guaranteed)
- Grab bars and handrails in bathrooms or along stairs
- Non-slip flooring to reduce fall risk
- Improved lighting for better visibility
- Ramps for easier mobility
- Door and window adjustments for accessibility
What to Expect:
- A licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) will visit your home.
- The OT will talk with you and/or your caregiver about your goals and daily needs.
- The OT will assess your home for fall risks and mobility challenges.
- Together, you will decide on the most important modifications for your safety and independence.
- A program approved independent contractor will be responsible for completing the modifications.
